The Red Tails room is named in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen. The pictures tell some of their story. This second floor room has awesome views and a view of the dawn's early light.

About Us

The Property

Welcome to Alpha Farm Bed and Breakfast. A Place to come to. In the middle of nowhere but close to everything. Come and relax with us and get away from all the strife and noise of city life. You can sit on the front porch and watch the crops grow or watch a magnificent sunset while enjoying fresh homemade cookies or cheese and crackers.  


Alpha Farm began on 47 acres in 1983 when the Lafferty's purchased the property which included a 150 year old house. While living and working elsewhere they began the clean-up of the dilapidated buildings and grounds. Virginia was just getting started with wine grapes so they planted one acre of wine grape vines. The next crop to be planted was vegetables, then came a greenhouse. The vegetables were sold on the farm and at farmer's markets in Fredericksburg and Charlottesville.  


Dick and Sharon talked about owning a log home on their first date and that dream never died. Thirty years later they started working on that dream. They have the log cabin which was built with a bed and breakfast in mind and would love to share that dream with you.

The Innkeepers

Sharon and Dick Lafferty have been farming for most of the 50+ years they've been married. Operating the Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful way for them to keep busy during their retirement years.

Policies

Rates


Rates are per room for one or two persons, except the Triplet Room which sleeps 3, and include en-suite bath and full breakfast, plus applicable taxes.  Rates are 199.00 1st night- 149.00 consecutive night each room.

Check-In: 4pm to 8pm. Unless otherwise planned.
Check-Out: 11am   

Reservations

You can make a reservation 24/7 online from the comfort of your home or wherever you happen to be! A credit card will be required to reserve a room.    

Holiday and Special Events

 

Two Night Minimum may apply on some holiday and special event dates. 

Alpha Farm is great place for a ladies get-away or a men's retreat.

This is a smoke-free inn

To ensure all guests enjoy the Alpha Farm experience, we are an adults only inn 

No guest pets allowed - A family dog is in the home. TV's in the rooms. 


 

Cancellation Policy ~ We recognize that circumstances sometimes necessitate a cancellation. Because of our small size, cancellations and no shows affect us significantly. For this reason, cancellations must be made seven (7) days prior to the date of arrival to avoid forfeiture of your deposit.

If you cancel within 7 days, no deposit will be refunded. Fourteen (14) day notice is required before holidays/special stays.

Guests canceling within 24 hours or less notice will be charged the full amount of their reservation. Guests checking out earlier than the confirmed departure date will not receive a refund.

All cancellations, regardless of notice, will be assessed a $25 cancellation fee, per room.

Please call to cancel your reservation. If you email your cancellation, ensure that you get confirmation from us that we have received your request to cancel your reservation.
